Inspiring apartment interiors in an ancient city

This incredible apartment is situated in an old mansion in the ancient city of Ghent, Belgium. When the owner wanted to rent the apartment, the proprietor was busy renovating. The owner was fortunate enough to decide with him what the space would look like. For instance, he detests doors, so there were none used inside the apartment. The space has been designed with very little architectural detail and sparing use of color, the decoration is based solely on the strategic positioning of some very fine furniture. The living room is centered around a distressed leather B&B Italia vintage sofa that lies on top of a gorgeous vintage area rug.
