Spectacular beach house on Takapuna Beach

This inspirational beach front residence is set on a sprawling 1,975 square meter site on Takapuna Beach in Hauraki, North Shore, New Zealand. The residence is beautifully integrated into its north facing site, positioned to maximize the breathtaking sea, beach and Rangitoto Island views and there is an immaculate gently sloping front lawn. Originally designed by Ron Sang in the 1980’s, the current owners have recently completed a magnificent renovation working together with Godward Guthrie Architects. The result is a highly aesthetically-pleasing balance of light-filled spaces with clean lines, floor to ceiling glass, bleached floors, both dramatic and intimate beach and sea views and fabulous tropical landscaping.

Minimalistic detailing was utilized with a simple palette of white and bleached timber to provide a casual beach living quality, complimenting the owner’s eclectic furnishings and art. The living and dining spaces are expansive and flow seamlessly to wide decks. The kitchen is gorgeous and ideally designed and appointed for effortless entertaining. Downstairs a second living space flows easily to a spectacular infinity edge swimming pool, generous decks and the expansive front lawn. The home wraps around a delightful inner courtyard with an outdoor fireplace. Features include four spacious bedrooms and four stylish bathrooms (including three en-suites). Other fine amenities include touch-pad lighting and surround sound through-out; truly one of the finest beachfront properties in New Zealand. This incredible home is currently listed for sale here.

I love this house…Yahoo! recently put up an article on “the modern american house” and it looked really similar in structure to this house. But, i don’t think it came anywhere near this beauty! This location just can’t be beat i think.
