Lakeside home in Minnesota features a soothing living environment

transitional-living-room

This soothing lakeside home was built by Stonewood, LLC with interior design by Martha O’Hara Interiors, situated in Minnetrista, Minnesota. The shared aim for the design team on this specification home was to create a space that felt residential, while also encompassing a lakeside living lifestyle.

The goal for this stunning project, through planning, building and the staging processes, was to make selections that would highlight the home’s incredible lake views, while also focusing on functionality for daily, residential living while appealing to potential home buyers.

Notice that there are two different sofa styles and colors in the same room. According to Martha O’Hara Interiors, “You can use two different sofa as long as they are in the same style family. The goes for fabric choices as well. There is no hard and fast rule, but this is a good recommendation.” For furniture placement in the family room, their rule of thumb is to leave 3 feet of space around furniture for traffic.

What We Love: We admire how the design team was able to pull the color scheme throughout the entire home without it being overwhelming. Large windows frame peaceful views of the home’s lakeside setting, created a truly relaxed atmosphere. Living spaces flow effortlessly from one to the next, offering the perfect lifestyle for these lucky inhabitants. Readers, what are your overall thoughts on the design of this lakeside home?
